As skill training is the next very vital element in the rehabilitation process, it has to also be geared towards helping the women to actually escape the poverty trap. Through the years, it became apparent that studying the market and organizing the training to reach the target market was the way to ensure employment and success in any future business.

As a result of this, the idea of producing quality chocolate for the huge international community came about.

Thanks to the skills of Master Chef Mr Barry Batchelor from Telford College, Edinburgh, who has volunteered to teach at the Project.

This product became the first of many unique items produced by the women. Barry has been coming to Addis every year to train the women through the years since his first trip in 2000, every year. He has trained three groups of girls in Pastry and Cake making skills.

The result of this training has been very good in securing jobs for the women, since there is a demand for skilled Pastry and Cake cheifs in the city. Mexican Corn-chips and Salsa also is a unique product that the women have been producing, since there are no 'MEXICAN' restaurant as such.

Hand-made cards and scented/coloured decorative candles are other products
that the women have been producing and making a living from.
